“How do you feel? Anything wrong? D’you want me to stay?”│p6

Kinaumagahan, kinatok ulit ako ni Ji.

“I’m ready to go,” nakangiting sabi niya.

“Oh, I think I’m not going to class today. I really don’t feel too well,” sabi ko.

“How do you feel? Anything wrong? D’you want me to stay?”

“No, no… thanks, Ji. I’ll be fine. You should go, it’s Friday, don’t miss your most important class,” sabi ko.

“Are you sure?” tanong niya na may labis na pag-aalala.

“Yeah,” sagot ko.

“Okay, but I’ll be home early. Don’t cook anymore, I’ll bring food.”

“Yes?” sagot ni Jihye, “feeling better now?”

“I cooked for us. You should rest eh,” sambit ni Jihye.

“Ji, I’m sorry, I’m not really sick. Something really, really bad happened last night. And since I don’t have anyone to share with, my girlfriend sort of broke up with me. She just can’t endure the distance between us.”

“Aw, I’m sorry, Vic…”

“It’s okay,” sabi ko, “I think this is part of it. Thank you really for being so concerned. I really appreciate it. Now I don’t feel I’m alone.”
